This training program included two parts: industry training sessions on the morning of October 31 and November 1, and on-site field research on the afternoon of October 31 and November 1. Six experts from institutions and enterprises such as Shandong Hydrogen Valley New Energy Technology Research Institute, Honghua Gas, CIMC Jidian, and Zhongke Fuhai were invited to deliver lectures.

Zhang Zhen, Executive Director of China ev100  Low-Carbon Research Institute and President of Shandong Institute of Hydrogen Energy Technology, presented China’s Green Fuel Industry Opportunities and Prospects. The course elaborated on the significance of green fuels for the shipping and aviation industries, pointed out that green fuels have become an important pathway for renewable energy integration, analyzed green fuel technology roadmaps and application prospects, and discussed challenges faced by the industry and solutions.

Dr. Zhou Shanke, Director of the Green Fuel Center at Honghua Energy Research Institute, lectured on Case Study: China’s First ISCC-Certified Green Methanol Project. He shared the development history and research scope of Honghua Energy Research Institute, provided a detailed analysis of the current status of green methanol development in China and internationally, introduced the research achievements of China Gas in green methanol production technology across three generations of hydrogen production technologies, shared the technical route of Honghua Energy Research Institute in a methanol plant in Inner Mongolia, and conducted a future demand analysis for green methanol.

Lü Guo’ai, Executive Deputy General Manager of CIMC Jidian and Dean of CIMC Jidian Green Hydrogen Research Institute, delivered a lecture titled High-Efficiency Hydrogen Production Solutions Adapting to Wind-Solar Fluctuations. He introduced the background of low-load operation of alkaline electrolyzers, analyzed the reasons why alkaline electrolyzers cannot operate at low loads, and presented CIMC Jidian’s solutions for "low-load hydrogen production technology" and "off-grid hydrogen production technology".

Shi Huawei, General Manager of Green Energy Development Center at Zhongke Fuhai Group, lectured on Liquid Hydrogen Storage, Transportation, and Refueling Technologies for Hydrogen Industry Scaling. He systematically introduced the current status of the liquid hydrogen industry in China and internationally, including hydrogen liquefaction, cryogenic liquid hydrogen storage tanks, cryogenic liquid hydrogen transfer, and gas-liquid coupled hydrogen refueling stations, shared the development trends of the domestic liquid hydrogen industry and Zhongke Fuhai’s experience in this field, and in case studies, introduced the successful terminal testing of the transoceanic liquid hydrogen transport demonstration project led by China National Offshore Oil Corporation in which Zhongke Fuhai participated.

On the afternoon of October 31 and November 1, the program organized on-site field research visits to Zhongke Fuhai (Zhongshan) Cryogenic Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Guangdong Jiancheng Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., and HanKang (Kaiping) Solid Waste Treatment Co., Ltd.

Visiting Zhongke Fuhai (Zhongshan) Cryogenic Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

The first visit on the afternoon of October 31 was to Zhongke Fuhai (Zhongshan) Cryogenic Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Zhu Cheng, Chairman of Zhongke Fuhai, warmly received all participants. Zhongke Fuhai is a state-owned high-tech enterprise controlled by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, established on the basis of decades of large-scale cryogenic engineering technology achievements led by two generations of academicians from the Institute of Physical and Chemical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It integrates R&D, manufacturing, and industrial gas supply, bringing together high-end equipment intelligent manufacturing, financial and industrial capital, and other innovative elements.

Visiting Guangdong Jiancheng Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd.

The second visit was to Guangdong Jiancheng Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., a mechanical manufacturing enterprise specializing in the research, production, and sales of pressure vessel equipment. The company holds Class I, II, III pressure vessel design and manufacturing licenses issued by the state, ASME U and U2 qualification certificates, and certification for cryogenic container strain-strengthened design and manufacturing. Its main products include LNG/LHG storage and transportation equipment and cryogenic liquid storage tanks.

Visiting HanKang (Kaiping) Solid Waste Treatment Co., Ltd.

On the afternoon of November 1, the program visited HanKang (Kaiping) Solid Waste Treatment Co., Ltd. Yang Mao生, General Manager of the company, led participants to tour the environmental protection science popularization exhibition hall, central control room, and crane control room. HanKang (Kaiping) Solid Waste Treatment Co., Ltd. focuses on municipal solid waste incineration power generation projects, using steam waste heat from waste incineration for sludge drying and high-temperature and high-pressure drying of animal-derived waste to reduce production costs. Biogas generated from food waste treatment is mixed with dried sludge and municipal solid waste for incineration, which not only lowers disposal costs but also generates energy benefits. Additionally, biogas produced from sewage treatment and food waste is used for power generation, effectively improving energy efficiency.

After two days of industry training and on-site research, the 4th session of the "Green Energy and Corporate Low-Carbon Transition Capacity Building Training Program" concluded successfully. All participants completed the program and received completion certificates.

Participants stated that this productive training program provided systematic knowledge on green fuels through professional courses and field research, broadened their perspectives, and enhanced their professional expertise. Exchanges with experts resolved long-standing industry questions and provided practical guidance for their work. Most importantly, the program created valuable opportunities for participants from different enterprises and fields to network, exchange experiences, share resources, and discuss strategies for advancing green low-carbon industries. This not only supports corporate sustainability but also fosters individual career growth.

The event received strong support from the Kaiping Municipal Government and was held in Kaiping’s Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town. Chen Xiaoman, Deputy Secretary of the Kaiping Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Yu Wenfeng, Deputy Mayor, engaged in in-depth discussions with experts and participants on hydrogen industry development and the promotion of hydrogen industry chain construction in Kaiping. The city aims to leverage this event to build collaborative partnerships, attract more high-quality enterprises to invest in Kaiping, and advance the high-quality development of its hydrogen industry.
